Defeating Negativity

One bad decision , one wrong turn , and a life suddenly full of disappointments, criticism, hardships, and the judgmental eye of the world......

This was what her young life had become in  a short period of time. She didn't understand how it all came to this, but it had, and making the right steps seemed like such an impossible task. No longer did she have the support system of those around her, no longer did they see the possibilities she had, only the lack the world had now deemed her future.

Her tough out side exterior over shadowed the brokenness and self doubt her heart held. Her face once glowing with hope illuminated a hardened and desperate soul, a soul needing for someone to see past all the wrong and witness the heart bleeding changes taking place deep within.

She began to fight her way back through all the self induced pain. One small step at a time, she is making her way. The world is echoing her faults with every step, love that is offered comes with conditions and doubt.
Still she continues on.

Nay sayers are jeering.....
Friends are spewing.....
Family is doubting.....

Negativity has arrived in a cloud of vengeance.

Negativity is a brutal opponent; a relentless force who's objective is to come in swinging and deliver a knock out with one punch.

Even though she can see the battle  it is that one voice that rises above it all.  A voice that calls to her with unconditional love.
A voice that fills her very being with a peace she has never had, a voice that gives her a new found strength and the courage of a fighter.
The voice of God.

She pushes forward with determination , un-afraid of the fight, for the gloves she wears are the gloves of  God. She steps into the boxing ring  with one purpose and the voice of her daddy God chanting her name.  Negativity is heading for a beat down.

Romans 8:31
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

When we step into the box ring of life we don't step in alone. No matter if it is family, friends or hecklers from the crowd of life leading the way for negativity to have its say, He never leaves nor forsakes us.

Romans 8:35
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation , or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

There is nothing  that can separate us for His love. No wrong turn, no unwise choice, no lack within. It is undying and never ending.  His love is a supernatural force that can not be tamed.

Romans 8:37
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

The love of Christ is present and active in every moment of our lives. We are  victorious, healed, restored and redeemed by the blood of the lamb.

Has any part of her story resonated with you? It does with me. I understand how emotionally weary negativity can be. The constant words of doom and gloom, the enormous amount of hopelessness it serves. The very act of  destruction to the soul it brings.  The over whelming desire to throw in the towel and quit.

I  encourage you do not allow negativity to have place in your life. Regardless of what others perceive about you, your circumstances or situations, our daddy God sees and knows differently.
The enemy would love to have us  bound within the ropes of negativity  and blind sided by all the left hooks the world throws. However in spite of the enemy's tactics our helper, our daddy God as already over come the world!!!

Hebrews 13:6
So we may boldly say: " The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"

Grab your gloves, step into the ring and boldly defeat negativity.
You are victorious!!!

XoXo

  1. Hi Stacey, wow, great post!!! NOTHING separates us from the love of God! Not even our mistakes or what we believe, especially if we believe wrong! God is merciful and gracious and waiting to bestow both on us.
    God bless

Her Son.....Our Saviour

This is a post I wrote 4 years ago  (4/8/12) on  "Shakin' the Foundation" blog site. I share it every Easter. I pray it ministers to your hearts.  **************************************************************************** As Easter approaches, I have been thinking alot about Jesus' time here on earth. We have all heard of his birth, his teachings, his signs, wonders and miracles. For the most part, we have been taught his life story from those who had the honor of walking daily with him, from those who witnessed every aspect of his life here. However today I am seeing his life through a mother's eyes....... Mary's eyes.....  As a mom myself, I can feel her joy when she looked into the eyes of her precious son. The miracle that she had been chosen to give birth to. That sweet precious baby boy that sometimes would fall down while playing, the one that cried out to her to pick him up..... Can you imagine looking into those beautiful eyes knowing wh...

Holding On To Hope

Proverbs 13:12 Hope deferred makes the heart sick but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life. Hope is a feeling of expectancy with the belief of grand things to come. It is a corner stone in order to stay grounded in times of struggle, knowing that this too shall pass. It is a map with directions to reach breakthroughs. This is my definition of hope. I literally cling to hope  just as a small child clings to his mothers leg. To give you a visual close your eyes and picture a child with their arms and legs wrapped around their mothers leg as she attempts to walk across the floor. Can you see her dragging her leg with her child basically sitting on her foot?  That is me and hope. I cling to her and sit on her foot with all my limbs clutching around her. However there have been  times I did not do such a good job of holding on to hope.  Times when I haven fallen and have had to crawl my way back to her digging in with all that...

Discourage by Brenda Yoder

{Dis} courage Does it feel like sometimes there's a big, thick wall surrounding you,   isolating you from all that is good on the other side? I call this wall   discouragement.    I don't like it. Are you discouraged?  What are the bricks in the wall surrounding you today? In discouraging moments, it seems like God is far, far away. Far away on the other side of the wall. No matter how you cry, scream or wail, it's though He doesn't hear. There's silence. That's where the discouragement lies - in the silence. I've been surrounded by a silence lately in the midst of noise .  Can you relate?  The world is SO noisy yet what I long to hear most from is my heavenly Father. I need encouragement.  Do you need encouragement? I was blessed by a blogging friend as I read her post of discouragement ( read it here)   today.   I've been blessed by the faith of friends who are fighting for the life of their child.  P...
