Timing Is Everything

I can not count the times in my life I have done things in my own time frame......
Never waiting for the right time.
My past has proven to be a story of unwise choices....
Rushed decisions.....
And unrealistic outcomes for my future.

In my lack of maturity, I believed I could make things happen instantly.
I did not stop to see which doors were closed and which ones were open.
I opened shut doors, even if that meant using a crow bar......
And passed by open doors because what I saw did not match the picture I painted.
I told myself what I had pictured was exactly what my daddy God had for me and ran with it.

Sadly I never stopped long enough to hear his voice telling me to stop....
I did not look for his directions....
I bolted at the speed of lightening to obtain my wants.
Had I waited on his timing, I would have saved myself many heartaches and needless disappointments.

Many times in life the things we desire come before us with the ringing sound of perfection.....
It beckons us with it's enticing appearance.....
And will present itself as the best thing to ever happen.
From job offers to a new home...
A new car or even a long awaited relationship.
All these can be a blessing......
But only when we receive them in God's time.

What looked  like to me as the perfect blessing, in reality became my own down fall, for it was never mine to begin with.
I rushed the process.....
I ignored his word........
My "riding the fence" trust level faltered all because my "here and now" thinking could not see His "wait what I have for you" timing.

Psalm 18:30
As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proven; He is a buckler to all those that trust in Him.

It took some growing up for me to learn to wait on the timing of my daddy God.
Some hard knocks.....
And some rough roads.
I still have those times when I run a little ahead of him, in the hopes and excitement of what I see is what He has for me. ( Learning day by day)
Thankfully He does not let me get too far before He stops me in my tracks, turns me around and reminds me his ways or not my ways.

Isaiah 55:8-9
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways." declares the Lord.
"As the heavens are higher than the earth,so are my ways higher than yours and my thoughts than your thoughts."

It may take me a few more steps, another try at the wrong door and Him repeating himself to me, just as any loving parent would do for their child.
I may have to endure a little heartbreak, some frustration and irritation.....
As we all know there are consequences to every action in life.
However by His grace I am learning to trust in his timing.
Looking back over this past year, I can see when I stepped ahead of Him, my daddy God has   been there to walk me back to the place I am to be to get me to the place I am to go.

Timing Is Everything....
His Timing~

  1. HI Stacey, we certainly do seem to have the same things running through our minds. Yes, forcing doors open, and ignoring those that were open definitely does not make for a smooth road. Trusting the Lord at every turn, every door is not an easy choice, but certainly the most rewarding. Thanks for the reminder that God's timing, not mine, is best
    God bless

Touching The Hem Of His Garment

It's day 6 of my 21 day fast and I have discovered just how much I have relied on social media for my daily encouragement. It's so easy , one click of my mouse and it's there for me to see. A short cut of sorts, a quick fix in a world , my world, that is constantly moving and changing. But when I dig into my daddy Gods word, when I take the time to seek Him, the encouragement is more....So much more. Today I am encouraged by the woman who suffered with the issue of blood. For 12 years she suffered a life of misery and in her culture was considered  unclean. It was a chronic condition which means she probably had anemia as well as  physical weakness. She was hopelessly incurable by the many doctors she had sought out for medical care. She had become destitute for she spent all that she had. Everything and everyone who she would come in contact with would have become ceremonially unclean making her shunned by all in society including her family. Her husband probably

Sifting Before the Shifting

I have been hearing the Lord say " shift" for the last year.  Shift in the atmosphere, shift in our nation, shift in the church, and a shift in me.  When I think about the word shift, I see a grand swope of the hand of God moving all into a direction of peace and wholeness.I believe without a doubt He is doing so, however I never once entertained the though He'd have to do some sifting.... sifting in me. Sifting is a process, a two part process, when sifting wheat. First comes the threshing, the beating of the grain using a flail. Second part is the winnowing, throwing the mixture in the air allowing the wind to blow away the lighter chaffs and the heavier grains to fall back down for recovery.  I take a closer look at this process and begin to meditate on how it applies to my life. The threshing  is the process of removal; removing those things which will cause me to stumble. When God begins to remove, He does so with the intent of replacing; replacing with those

When My Puzzle Pieces Do Not Fit

Putting a puzzle together can be fun, enjoyable and somewhat a relaxing time when the pieces all fit correctly the first time.  However when it is a puzzle with thousands of little pieces that require a great deal of time trying to figure out what piece goes where it can become frustrating, at least for me. Many times I have had to rely on the box top picture to navigate me through the placing of each piece and even that process can be irritating. Eventually the pieces do all fit exactly the way they were created to fit and the perfect picture is formed. It is a victory of sorts for me as patience is not my best quality.  But what about when our life's pieces are not fitting together? I had this certain picture I created in my mind, a picture how my own pieces were to fit together, my perfect box top per say. However the pieces I chose I could not force them to fit. No matter how I placed them, pushed them together, they still would not connect. My box top picture was
